What does the future retail city centre look like?

Retail city centres are having a hard time. The economic crisis and the rise of e-commerce had a severe impact on the cities: on average 9 percent of the shopping areas in The Netherlands remains empty. Within politics, media and above all within the retail there is lot of attention paid to address vacancy rates and to improve the retail climate. Clear is that there is a need for a future proof city centre. A city, ready for the future consumer.
