As a small business owner, you will benefit
from my wide-ranging skill set. Having "earned my stripes"
in fortune 500 and high-tech startup companies for 15+ years,
I learned to wear multiple hats which means you won't have
to hire several different people to accomplish your goals.
I can help with all things marketing and provide you continuity
across all media for a professional brand image.
I approach everything from your customer's
perspective whether it's a new web site, email campaign,
or a simple brochureat the end of the day, how will
your business make their life easier? And because of my
background, I save you time by sorting through marketing
options for you and recommending the appropriate marketing
channels for your business.
The web sites I design and develop today for
small businesses are created in Wordpress. It's an ideal
solution because it is very SEO-friendly, is flexible, scalable,
and has a built-in content management system. Wordpress
supports e-commerce, events calendars, social media linking,
and much much more. I am sold on it.
My marketing career began with Motorola in
Austin, TX where I was the sole marketing communications
person in an entire product division. This was my boot camp.
I managed everything from trade shows, newsletters, media
buying, ad development, vendor management, collateral design,
and public relations.
After five years there, McDATA Corporation
in Broomfield, CO made me an offer I couldn't refuse (those
were the days of stock options) and I moved to this lovely
state. I rode the Initial Public Offering (IPO) tidal wave
with McDATA and learned a lot about rebranding a company.
I initiated and led all online marketing programs and consequently,
developed a passion for designing web sites and Internet
marketing.
McDATA is now owned by a competitor and since
then I have held positions at high-tech startups plus Mentor
Graphics, Inc., a long-standing engineering software company.
I hold a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications
and graduated Magna Cum Laude from St. Edwards University
in Austin, TX. My field of study included marketing, graphic
design, and PR along with visual, written, and oral communications.
